African Extracts is a skin-care house from South Africa, using principles of gentle, effective, uncomplicated skin care. The product range contains natural plant extracts unique to the South African region in which it exclusively grows. 

Many of the most effective and gentle skin-care ingredients are found in the plants sourced from diverse habitats of the world, where the science of modern skin care has confirmed what generations of indigenous people knew about the benefits of plant materials. 

While the Rooibos plant has been used in various forms for centuries, including as an increasingly popular (redbush or rooibos) tea, the true potential of the extract is now coming to the fore through the use of a patented ‘green-tea’ extraction method. This method ensures 11 times higher anti-oxidant levels than the already rich conventional extract.

Every product you purchase provides project-based funding support to GCU Academy's education and support programs for desperately impoverished children of the Heideveld ('gang land') region near Capetown. Heideveld is a region which is ravaged by unemployment, poverty, drug and alcohol abuse, crime and gang activity. Children are often left to fend for themselves early on and face a bleak future without positive role models. GCU Academy provides free opportunities for sport, education and reform, with positive roles models and opportunities for socilisation.
